ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Congratulations on purchasing a RAILZ SnowSkate or kit. RAILZ is the snowskate that skates. Your RAILZ SnowSkate performs best in hard packed snow conditions. The stainless steel rails on the patented rocker design skis allow you to ride the snow just like your favorite patch of concrete. Please refer to the following assembly instructions when assembling, disassembling, adjusting or maintaining your RAILZ SnowSkate.
Truck and Spring Plate mounting.
Insert truck mounting screws into the truck holes on the deck.
Install the Spring Plate onto the screws so that the “BOARD END” text is visible and toward the end of the board.
Install the truck onto the screws on top of the spring plate and install the truck mounting nuts on the screws finger tight.
Slip the tension bands under the hooks on the spring plate (four places) and then fully tighten the truck mounting hardware.
Repeat steps 1.1 through 1.4 to mount the other truck.
Ski Mounting
Install a RAILZ ski to one of the axles using two 5/16” washers and one axle nut. One washer should be installed on the inside of the ski and the other on the outside of the ski.
Tighten the axle nut until snug and then loosen it until the ski just starts to move freely on the axle.
Using your two index fingers, stretch the tension band from the spring plate and hook it onto the adjacent eye hook on the ski. Repeat this step for the tension band on the opposite end of the ski.
Repeat steps 2.1 through 2.3 for the remaining three skis.
NOTE: This procedure sets the skis up in a standard “neutral” preload configuration. The skis can be set up for alternate ski positions to enhance board slides and other tricks by removing the inside or outside tension bands. See “Alternate ski positions” for other preload configurations.
Alternate ski positions
The standard ski configuration is a neutral preload. This configuration keeps the skis parallel to the deck when the board is off the ground. The skis can also be set up for internal and external preload.
